Just hopping on to share this super simple thankful turkey craft for kids. It’s such a classic! And I promise, even if you are short on time and supplies, this is one you can do today with kids of all ages.
How to set up this thankful turkey craft for kids
I promise you, I am not artistic, but even I can easily set up this activity in to time!
- I cut a simple turkey shape out of paper. If you’ve got a brown paper bag on hand, that’s a great option too.
- Take a bunch of different fall colored construction paper and cut out feather shapes.
- Grab markers or crayons and tape. We love to use masking or painters tape for the walls.
You can choose to have your kids write something they are thankful for on each feather. This activity works great for preschoolers, because they can either draw or recite to you things to write down.
Why we love this Thankful Turkey Craft for Kids
You can choose to write on and tape all of the feathers in one sitting, or you can choose to spread it out. For this option, you would give each kid or family member a feather every day to add on. This is a fun way to spread out the Thanksgiving fun for the week or two before the actual day!
We love any activity that gets kids and parents talking together, and this one does just that.
Your thankful turkey will be a beautiful Thanksgiving decoration to have on the wall during the season. Your family and friends will love seeing it on the wall during the Thanksgiving meal too!
