Today I’m sharing a summer learning schedule that I’m using with Fitz to keep his little brain sharp this summer! It’s nothing too complicated – just some simple learning activities to make sure he’s prepared for Kindergarten come fall. Here’s our daily schedule for Week 1 with descriptions for each day below!
Summer Learning Schedule: Week 1

Monday: Library Day
We’re going to head to the library each week and find themed books. We kicked off week 1 finding books about summer and Fitz loved them! Check out our list of 15 must read summer books that we found at our local library. They were a hit!
Tuesday: Ten Frame Draw
We used an egg carton and pom-poms to represent each number drawn. The challenge here was removing or adding pom poms to show the new number!

Wednesday: Name Practice
We used chart paper and dot stickers to practice tracing his first and last name. Just tape the paper to a wall at your child’s eye level and let them have fun with the stickers!

Thursday: Building Towers
We got out our foam blocks and made different designs to see how tall we could get before it fell over! We kept a measuring tape close by and practiced measuring as we were building. We discussed making a strong base and other ways to keep our tower strong!
Friday: Games
So many skills to learn with playing games: reading and following directions, taking turns, counting, being a good winner/loser. This week we played card games from this card set from Target!
