Here I am today with some of my postpartum loungewear favorites! Baby girl is almost two months old and the postpartum period and all that comes with it is starting to ease up. When I got pregnant with Fitz at 32, I had already seen my sisters and friends have babies many time and thought I was pretty prepared. And while I there wasn’t a lot that surprised me with the baby, I was quite shocked about all that happened to me both physically and emotionally!
I remember hollering at my sisters when I found out about the mesh underpants, Tuck’s pads, and everything else- I seriously had no idea! And even this second time around I was surprised again by how hard it was just to get around. It’s also hard to wait and get back to your usual size – or wonder if you will! I literally just want to wear my jeans again and have more clothing options.
Emotionally, I was also unprepared for the “Baby Blues”. A couple weeks after Fitz, I had so many hormonal tears and just random break downs. It wasn’t postpartum depression, but definitely enough that I couldn’t understand why I was so happy and yet sometimes felt so sad. Luckily, it didn’t last too long. This time around I didn’t have the baby blues much, but I can tell my hormones are definitely super out of whack! I just know this will get better over time.
My postpartum uniform is obviously all about comfort. Around the house, this loungewear set is the softest thing ever and so cute. It’s all about the leggings still, and I’m wondering- how long can I get away with wearing my maternity over the belly leggings? I also love these non maternity leggings – Aerie leggings have seen me through my pregnancy as well as after! I was super impressed that they didn’t even stretch out so I can still wear the same ones. You can pair them with a button up tank or tunic for breastfeeding ease. These tunics are under $25 on Amazon and come in tons of colors, and there is also a short sleeved version!
What were your go-to clothes for the post partum period?
