IT’S A GIRL!!!
I was about 98% positive – due to a strong mother’s intuition that proved incorrect-that we would be having a boy. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this news!
How we found out
Joe and I headed into our anatomy scan excited to find out the news. The technician took her pretty little time before looking between the legs and Joe and I could have sworn we saw boy parts two or three times! Finally, she got a clear shot and said, “These are definitely not boy parts,” and it took Joe and I a few seconds to process that statement. I immediately started sobbing! I have been much more hormonal during this pregnancy but I still really surprised myself with how emotional this news made me!
How we shared the news!
This child will be the youngest of my mom and dad’s 13 grandchildren and my whole tight-knit family was so excited to find out. Every year, my sister throws a family fourth of July party at her home, which lies outside city limits. We usually do a bunch of fireworks and have our own little show there. So after Joe and I found out the girl news, we got a large pink firework to share with them in a fun way. My mom, sisters, and nieces were especially anxious all day waiting for dark to set in so we could light it off!
We are absolutely thrilled to add a daughter into our family! She is already so loved! We’ve had a few girls names on our list ever since Fitzgerald was born, but for some reason as soon as we saw our sono pictures, I just KNEW exactly what her name is! And luckily, Joe agreed with me, so her name is meant to be. I’ll be keeping the name to ourselves and sharing in November. For now, we love calling her by name at home, working more on the nursery, and of course I’ve already started shopping for bows and bonnets!
