M&M Thanksgiving Activity for Families

November 12, 2022 By Emily No Comments

I’m so excited to share this free printable of a Thanksgiving activity for families! We have played this M&M Gratitude game the past couple of years, and it’s just too good not to share.

Thanksgiving Activity for Families

This game works for gatherings of friends also! Whether you are planning to host Thanksgiving with family or friends, or you are heading to eat and relax elsewhere, this easy game is a great way to get your party talking about what they are thankful way in a fun way.

How to play

You’ll want to print and cut-out the card. You can make a copy for each individual, of just have a few out as a reference for multiple people.

You’ll want to give everyone a small bag of M&Ms, or have a bowl of M&Ms at the table.

One at a time, someone will draw an M&M and answer the question on the card that matches their M&M color. Or, you can have everyone draw their M&M and have some time to think before it’s their turn.

Depending on the size of your group, you can just go around once, or play multiple times. We always play a few rounds and do a lot of listening, talking, and story telling!

Why we love it

Everyone in the family, no matter how young or old, can play! Even when Fitz was 4, he was able to come up with ideas to share. He of course loved the candy involved as well.

I love how some of the prompts have people sharing different things, like the memories and skills they are thankful for. This opened up so many conversations at our table and we always end up talking about our responses for quite awhile!

When Fitz played for the first time, I thought his responses were so cute. I wrote down his responses and saved his card as a keepsake, making this game such a sweet memory as well.

You can grab this free Thanksgiving activity for families printable HERE. If you try it, you can email me and let know how it goes, I’d just love to know!
