Cosette April: 7 Month Update - Emily's Little Loves

I totally planned on a 6 month update post, but that month came and went so fast! So here we are with a 7 month update. Coco is up to so many new things and is a delightful baby if she’s well fed, rested, and entertained, ha! She’s just at such a FUN stage and everyone just loves seeing and squeezing her! Here are her 4-6 month photos:

Eating

We introduced solid foods to her at 6 months and it was not a hit! Fitz gobbled up his first foods, but Coco spent a few weeks spitting everything back out! I like to give my babies table food, just mashed up a bit because I find it easier than baby food. But she just wasn’t having it! I’ve recently had better luck with apple and banana baby food. She does love her sippy cup, it’s extra small and the perfect size for her little hands.

Sleeping

We’ve been very up and down in the sleep department since birth. I’m working right now to get her to go without milk in the middle of the night, and we’ve just been letting her cry a bit. I’M TIRED OF BEING TIRED! Some nights she still wakes up in the middle of the night and I just hear her fussing a bit, but she does fall back asleep. It’s the little wins, you guys. The Huckleberry app helped us a lot a few months ago, so I think I’m going to try it out again and get back on a better sleep schedule.

Developing

Coco started scooting a bit at 6 months, and now she’s moving so fast and going all over the place! Our biggest challenge is keeping Fitz’s little toys (like Legos) off the floor. Fitz is being a big help in watching her and keeping her away from things. We practice sitting her up, but she doesn’t have that skill down yet. She still talks constantly and I just can’t wait to have actual conversations with her someday! She recognizes her name, is learning what “no” means, and enjoys songs, books, and going to the pool!

She is perfectly happy and healthy, but the doctor does have an eye on her weight. She had a sharp drop in her weight percentile at about 4 months old, so we’ve had to take her in for some weight checks. She still hovers around 5 %ile and and she’s just a petite little thing! She’s just now moving into size 3-6 month clothes.

Favorite Things

Bumbo chair: She loves sitting up in her bumbo seat! Specifically, I love the Bumbo multi seat that has a little tray attachment. It’s a good spot for her when I need to take a shower or clean, and I like to put some toys on there and set her in front of Fitz. She is always entertained by him.

Sophie the Giraffe: This toy was one of Fitz’s favorites and she loves it too! So easy to hold on and chew.

Bath time: She still looooves her bathtime and now she loves going to the pool too! This under $20 bath seat has been used since day one, and was such a good buy. She loves her little bath book and toys too! We love this shampoo rinser too.
