Cosette April: 3 month update

I’m literally in tears over here!! My precious baby girl is 3 months old and heading out of the newborn phase. I’m basically spending every waking minute in love watching her grow and interact with us more, but also trying so hard to remember holding her when she was a teeny tiny 7 pound newborn! Here’s a little 3 month old update on what Cosette April has been up to!

3 Month Update

Well, I guess this is second baby problems, but I didn’t take official one and two month pics of the baby…with Fitz I had official pictures with a sign every week. Already having second kid problems! I snapped this real quick when she was 2 months old. So little!

Sleeping and Eating

I was so excited to see how different she would be then her brother and it has definitely been fun figuring out this little girl. Fitz was super easygoing and kind of naturally put himself on a schedule, but was also pretty flexible with it, so it was fairly easy for me. This little girl was all over the place for quite awhile, and I am just now getting her sleeping and eating more predictably. I think this is also helping her to sleep a bit longer at night! I try to follow the eat-wake-sleep routine and that is helpful too. She’s had some nights where she sleeps longer stretches, but can still have nights where she is up a lot.

We had some struggles with breastfeeding at first, and I think it was mostly due to some neck tightness that she had, causing a lot of pain on one side. We massaged and stretched it and now are doing pretty well. But I just about gave up at one point! What helped me the most was an appointment with a lactation specialist (she discovered the neck tightness) and a friend recommending nipple shields until the problem was solved!

Her Favorite Things

Her play mat: She loves this thing. She will reach and kick at all the hanging toys and we are practicing tummy time on here as well. I love this play mat because it is adjustable so you can move it around to change things up.

Books: Fitz loves reading books to her! And even when she’s fussy, she will calm down when big brother brings a book to her. We love these interactive books for new babies: My First I See You, Pat the Bunny, and Shake, Touch, and Play.

Moses Basket: She loves sleeping in this thing! Right now, she sleeps in the basket which is inside her crib. I think it helps her feel so cozy! Plus, it looks super cute. 🙂

Bath time: This is so fun for me, because Fitz never liked his bath as a baby! Coco will happily sit in her little baby bath, splash, and watch her brother play. It’s so fun! Check out the baby bath tub I use here.

How We’ve Adjusted

Joe is smitten with his baby girl and loves when he gets the chance to feed her a bottle. Fitz adjust so much better than I could have even dreamed. He plays with her, reads to her, loves to take baths with her, and always wants to hug and kiss her. He says she is the cutest baby in the world. He’s adjusted way better than I ever imagined! How I’ve adjusted to being a mom of two is for another post. 🙂
