Back to School 2020 and a Pretty Pleated Skirt

Since my husband and I are both in education, back to school is always a pretty big deal at our house! And now that Fitz is in preschool, our whole household’s schedule changes drastically come August. But this year, going back to school looks so different for us, and at times it’s pretty overwhelming. I know that’s true for just about everyone right now!

Back to School 2020

All three of our schools have made changes this year due to the pandemic. My university pushed our start date up to allow us to have a whole semester without breaks, then we will have our winter break starting at Thanksgiving. This somehow worked out perfect for me, because the baby is due right before Thanksgiving!

Joe and Fitz will both go to school after Labor Day, though Joe has to report a couple of weeks before. Fitz will be in Pre-K three mornings a week and he is excited to get back to his teachers and friends. Though anything can change these days, so we know we have to be ready to adjust for any possible changes!

This year is also different because we are expecting Baby Girl in November. Once I start my classes, I know that will help the time just fly by and she will be here before I know it!

Back to School Outfit Details:

I love this outfit for my first day back at school! And bonus: It totally works with or without a baby bump!

Pleated midi skirt: This Halogen skirt is so pretty AND comfortable! It comes in a lot of cute prints and I’m also eyeing the animal print. I loved it before the bump, and now it still looks cute, I just pull it up a little bit higher over the belly.

Maternity Tank: I’m wearing this in the pale pink, but I also have in white, black, and grey. You’ll be seeing me rocking these a ton right now -they work with almost everything. These are must have for maternity and at around $10 it’s so easy to get in all the colors!

Pumps: These Vince Camuto nude pumps are my favorite for work and comfortable all day long!

Knit blazer: My tie sleeve knit blazer is sold out, but I also have and love THIS one.

Bag: I love a nice leather backpack to switch up my work bag look! Similar bag HERE

As I write this, I know some things in our current plan could change, but for now we are preparing for whatever may come! What does back to school look like at your house this year? I’d love to know!
