Any other mamas out there wish pregnancy could be 50/50? I feel like since I’ve done half the work, it’s time for me to pass the torch to my husband…if only it worked that way! But really all those baby girls kicks make it all more than worth it.
I absolutely love the halfway mark! Since I tend to get very sick during pregnancy, it’s the little marker I need to know that this too shall pass, and that my sickness will come to an end. This was also a BIG week because my husband and I celebrated our 9th anniversary!
Feeling:
I did have some better days this week, but I still rely on Bonjesta and Zofran to survive. The heartburn is starting to kick in, but still manageable with Tums. The BEST symptom though is how many baby kids and rolls I feel! This time around, I have felt her move a little since week 15 and I love feeling her kids get stronger. Daddy got to feel her kick at week 18 and we both just love being reassured that she’s doing well.
Eating:
I craved more carbs again this week….similar to the first trimester. A lot of toast… I also begged my husband to make pancakes the morning of our anniversary and wow, did I NEED those!
Preparing:
As soon as we found out we are having a girl, Joe started bringing up all the tubs of boy clothes we had been saving in case of another boy. I went through them and make piles to keep (just a few special items!), take to Goodwill, and some to give to a friend with a younger boy. I definitely teared up some with memories of when Fitz was so little!
For our anniversary, we decided to keep it pretty low key because of my low energy and occasional nausea. My sister took Fitz for the afternoon/evening and we were able to relax together and went to a nearby steak restaurant we’ve been wanting to try out. We are so blessed to celebrate 9 wonderful years together that have brought us three beautiful babies and a life filled with love!
