I wanted to share a simple family photo shoot we had at home after we had Coco! I really wanted to have some pictures of the four of us but knew that going out anywhere would be too hard after just having a baby. So we did it at home!
Tips for an at home family photo shoot
It was so simple- we just used our bed as the backdrop and had our photographer come over. Joe, Fitz, and I put on some neutral clothing that goes with anything. We put Coco in her little pink Caden Lane knitted gown. I love the homey, cozy look of these pictures!
Here are FOUR tips for your own home photo shoot:
- The room: The living room couch, master bedroom, or the baby nursery are all good options. We picked our bedroom because it was the space that looked the most put together after bringing baby home!
- The outfits: Again, keep it simple. Joe, Fitz, and I wore neutral clothes, which is the easiest way to make sure everyone coordinates. For Coco, we opted for her knotted gown, rather than a fancy outfit. I just wanted it to look casual and homey!
- The poses: The closer you all can get to each other, the better! We just hopped on our bed and got cozy. Natural and easy.
- The photographer: Don’t want spend the trouble or money on a professional photographer? Ask a friend or family member who is handy with a camera. They are usually happy to help.
Fitzgerald is always my little poser. <3
I’m over the moon happy with our newest family addition. Our little Cosette is just what we needed and now we know that our family is complete. It is such a blessing having a daughter and it’s so fun seeing Fitz interact with his little sister!
I’m so happy with how they turned out! Have you ever tried a home family photo shoot?
