My baby is one and WOW, I can’t believe I’m writing my Cosette’s 12 month update. I wrote about her Luau birthday party, and I had her 12 month update written but I forgot to publish until now! We’ve all been there, right moms?
Her last update was at 9 months, so here’s her 10 and 11 month snapshots!
So what’s Coco up to at one years old?
*note to say this was written in November when she turned one, just published late!

12 Month Baby Update
Eating
Coco has made so much improvement in the eating area in just a few short months. When she was 9 months old, her low weight gain and poor eating habits led our doctor to recommend a physical therapist, which was so helpful!
Our therapist gave us a variety of strategies that helped Coco with eating. We found that her main issue was her gag reflex, and so we did some things to help push it back so she would stop choking and spitting out food! She gnawed on carrots, celery and even beef jerky to do this!
It’s slowly starting to help, and she’s doing so much better eating more and more every day. She’s still of small stature and weighs under 15 pounds, but she is happy and healthy!
Sleeping
Well. I thought I’d have better news at the 12 month mark. But we get a lot of middle of the night wake ups still. She does nap well during the day, with a morning and an afternoon nap. She goes to bed for the night happily, but wakes up often around midnight and again in the very early morning time, around 5am.
You just don’t realize how much you need sleep until you’re not getting it! The doctor encourages me to keep feeding her in the middle of the night, so we haven’t really done a lot of sleep training yet because we want to make sure her little belly is full.
New Skills
Coco is still cruising all around the furniture and I keep thinking she’ll walk any day, but so far she hasn’t! She sure loves to climb up and into anything she can find! She still says “Dada” the most and knows how to use sign language for “milk” when she’s hungry. It’s the cutest thing!
Favorite Things
Coco still loves her Lovevery Play Gym! It is such a long lasting toy, and I consider it a must have item. We only got it when she was 9 months old, and I thought she’d be too old for it by now. But she loves using it as her little play area and she likes the canopy on top too.
She also loves the Lovevery play kit! i like to keep these toys separate from her other toys, and then pull them out when she needs something new and interesting. They are so good for purposeful play and designed for specific developmental stages.
She loves doing lap games like “So big!” and “Patty Cake”. She also loves to dance and moves her little body as soon as she hears music!
It’s so fun to watch her grow and develop into the little girl God made her to be. Cosette April, I can’t wait to see what this year holds for you!
What’s your favorite thing about the one year old stage? I’d love to know!
